How to use a Hoop-it-all Quilter's Square for a Latte Quilt Block
This may help other people use a Quilter's Square Hoop-it-all (HIA).
The screen shots are of my Artista V4.0 SW with the Royal Bluebell Block from the Latte Quilt book by Kerrie Hay
The whole block ready to split up into sections for the HIA
I have numbered the quarter sections so I know which one I'm up to, and to make sure each block is the right-way-up! (I wonder why? LOL)
The first section highlighted, ready to copy and paste into a new screen.
Please note - the centre ‘cross’ is included.
Shows the third section highlighted - as for the first. (the cross is included in
every section)
Shows third section pasted into new screen. It has been rotated to the correct position for sending to machine and stitching.
Digitize Start Point in this screen.
You can also digitize the End Point as
'Auto End at > Return to Start'. This will bring the needle back to the cross centre.
This what it should look like. It may take several tries to get it exactly in the centre
of the intersecting lines.
Turn Stitch Points off and Save as Design_x.ART
This is what the Start Point looks like on a 1mm grid. It fits into the overlapping section in the very centre of the Hoop-it-all.

Please go to Wide Hoop Page 2 for a better alignment stitch and to download the file
Lining up Start Point with needle for third section. Initial hole is through a
piece of ‘Magic Tape’ and surrounded with pencil marks to be able to find it!
Lining up for last section.
These templates might help too. They are ART V4 files but if loaded into Artista you can save them as
an AMT file (Template file)
This shows how the available areas for stitching overlap.
This shows one arrangement of hoops for a full sized design. The hoops areas can be slid along the sides to any position.
The key is to include an alignment stitch that is common to all hoop areas. In this case it is the 'x' in the very centre.

Here are some screen shots of another block to show how to
save each section for the Quilter's Square HIA
I used 'crazy colours' to make it easier to select each 'object'.
The blocks 1-4 show each section after it has been rotated ready to stitch.
The digitized numbers are only to show orientation (to avoid mistakes - especially helpful with nearly symmetrical designs) and are not stitched. (I wonder why I'm repeating myself? LOL)
